About
Welcome to Taqueria la Conquista, a hidden gem nestled in Redding, California, at 2030 Eureka Way. This delightful taqueria has been capturing the hearts—and taste buds—of locals and visitors alike with its vibrant flavors and warm hospitality. If you’re in search of authentic Mexican and Venezuelan cuisine, look no further.
Step inside and you’ll immediately sense the welcoming atmosphere, complemented by the friendly smiles of the owners and staff. The service is as notable as the food, with a community focus that makes everyone feel like a regular. Justine Buttz raves about the ambiance, describing it as “next level” and insisting that no one should miss out on the culinary delights here.
The menu reads like a love letter to the rich traditions of Latin cuisine. Whether you're in the mood for a Super Quesadilla at $12.99, packed with your choice of beef, pork, or shrimp, or the family-friendly Hot Dog Con Papas Fritas for the kids at $9.50, there’s something for everyone. The Super Burrito at $13 offers a whopping choice of fillings—from marinated meats to seafood—that are sure to satisfy any craving.
The standout, however, might just be the Tacos de Pollo Grande. American Angler praises them with a resoundingly enthusiastic, “WOW!” Such rave reviews are no accident. The authentic flavors and generous portions make them a must-try. Also noteworthy are the chimichangas and huaraches, popular favorites that will transport your taste buds straight to a bustling Mexican plaza.
For those who crave a unique fusion experience, Ana Gilliland captures this perfectly, noting the “perfect blend of Venezuelan and Mexican food without losing authenticity.” The dishes are made from scratch, echoing the time-honored recipes passed down through generations, reminiscent of home-cooked meals shared amongst family and friends.
Don't forget to sample the Al Pastor and Queso Birria; Jacobus Veenje claims they are the best in Redding! With complementary chips and salsa, every meal here feels like a celebration, making you feel part of the Taqueria la Conquista family.
Every bite you take at Taqueria la Conquista tells a story—of tradition, warmth, and love for food. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make it a priority to explore this delightful establishment. As Rob Eilers recommends, even if you indulge in their empanaditas and horchata this time, be sure to leave room for a return visit. Your taste buds will thank you!
“ This place is next level. AMAZING food in an awesome little building. The owners and workers are the most friendly you'd ever meet. I can't say enough about this place. I HIGHLY recommend everyone come try the food here! ”
“ Best real authentic food made from scratch. Like going to my mom's house for dinner. Perfect blend of Venezuelan and Mexican food without losing the authenticity of either. We love this place, plus the staff is great, friendly and remember their regulars and their orders ... ”
“ After just getting into town my first step before picking up the Whiplash Whoopinwacker from old lady Cheeseweasle was to find a good Taqueria, and not just any Taqueria....Taqueria la conquista because they're famous for thier Tacos de pollo grande! I got two of them, and all I can say is... WOW! 5 Stars And now that my breakfast is out of the way I can look for a delicatessen for lunch! ”
“ Nice proprietor. Fresh made items. Enjoyed very much. We had empanaditas, huarache, and horchata. All very good. The chips and salsa were good, too. We saw them making Chile rellenos.....looked fantastic.....we will try those next time. Recommend! ”
“ Al Pastor and queso birria are the best in Redding. The owners are so friendly and kind. The salsa and chips are also amazing and complimentary. ”
“ This was an accidental find and a definite hidden gem. I stopped for fuel at the adjacent gas station and saw this place and it being lunch time....it all added up. I ordered a regular burrito and I'm so glad that I didn't get the big one. This thing was huge and filled with extremely tasty fillings. My wife got a couple of street tacos and those were overflowing as well. The quality was excellent, the taste was excellent, everything was perfect. If we ever find ourselves on that road in this area again we'll definitely stop in ”
“ These ladies are so sweet and man can they cook. New owners! Please support this business. Food is very reasonably priced and they use good ingredients. Mexican is by far my favorite and a lot of places in town have gristle instead of asada. Not this place it’s great. Also if you get takeout she hits skip on the tip herself. Love these ladies. ”
